①wildlife 是一個(gè)不可數(shù)的集合名詞，且通常不連用冠詞；用作主語時(shí)，謂語用單數(shù)；可用 much, little 等修飾，但不用 many, few 修飾。

如：

The wood is a haven for wildlife. 這片樹林是野生生物的安樂窩。

There is much wildlife in the forests of Maine. 在緬因州的森林里有很多野生動(dòng)物。

Wildlife is fast disappearing from our countryside. 野生動(dòng)物正從鄉(xiāng)間快速消失。

②但是，若特指（比如特指某一地區(qū)的“野生生物”）則可連用定冠詞。如：

The increasing use of pesticides threatens the wildlife of the area. 越來越多地使用殺蟲劑威脅到這個(gè)地區(qū)野生動(dòng)植物的生存。

The human population in the region is expanding in inverse proportion to the wildlife. 這個(gè)地區(qū)的人口在膨脹，而野生生物的數(shù)量卻在減少。
